My name is Lewis Poretz and I am the founder of Poretz Financial

I started my mortgage career in the 90’s, worked my way up to sales manager, started a company from scratch for someone and eventually opened my own shop and had a great run until the financial meltdown in the 2009.

I jumped back into the business in 2013 as a branch recruiter for a national lender… this industry has a way of sucking you back in.

Spending 6 years as a Non-QM account executive – I know guidelines and the ins and outs of Non-QM lending with a deep understanding of DSCR loans.

Why choose me?

During my tenure as a Non-QM AE, I worked with brokers every day, witnessing first hand the lack of communication they had with their borrowers. Often times, in a role I was not supposed to be in, I worked directly with borrowers on behalf of brokers to get their deals funded.

Brokers lack of knowledge of Non-QM product guidelines, inability to structure loan files, and even most importantly lack of communication killed deals. I witnessed this time and time again.

I just knew deep down inside I could make a difference working directly with investors.

It’s Really Not That Complicated

Based on a borrowers needs, you match the scenario to a credit matrix. Once the loan is submitted to underwriting and conditions are released…. you satisfy the conditions. The real key is communication with the borrower.

End Investors Matter

Through my years of industry experience I have learned which investors that can execute and communicate effectively.

There are very few true lenders in Non-QM. Many are super brokers, simply acting like they are lending their money, however the true underwriting decisions often comes from the lender they are selling the loans to.

With many years of solid lending relationships, I choose to partner with ‘end investors’ who are typically funded by hedge funds and/or insurance companies. These lenders are the final decision. Exceptions are made by these lenders and wait time is drastically reduced because of this.

Low Cost Lending

Poretz Financial operates very lean, which means I do not have to over charge borrowers to help pay for my fancy office, advertising or large staff. My cost to originate loans is very low and I pass those savings to my borrowers.
